UDS NYC GLOWS AT NIGHT

Months ago, the main streets of NYC were dark due to some faulty street lamps. Though there were erected street lamps along the stretch, just a few of these street lamps were functioning while a large number of the lamps were not functioning due to that students were scared to use that stretch because students during the previous trimester had to use flash lights to aid them use the road with a little sense of security.

The student populace, forwarded a complaint to the office of the SRC and pleaded with the council to come to their aid, the council listened to the students and also sent forward the grievances of the students to the school’s management for it to be addressed.

Fortunately for the student populace the SRC were able to actually intervene on their behalf and getting their grievance addressed. Now UDS NYC looks brighter at night as compared to previous times and years. Students now feel safe and secured when using the streets of the university at night and even at late hours.

According to the Secretary of the SRC Mr. Elvis Ofori who in an interview on Time with SRC on Grin 94.7 said that the SRC didn’t find it easy in convincing management to embark on the project because the SRC were seeking for LED street lamps and the management wanted to purchase the normal street lamps hence the SRC had to meet management severally in order to convince them to purchase the LED street lamps either than the usual street lamps.

Also Mr. Elvis Ofori made mentioned that, the entire project which involves the installation of the LED street lamps and the four (4) solar panel street lamps at the library which are positioned at vantage points to make the path leading to the library brighter, amounted to approximately GHȻ80,000, He also said that the SRC is working in hand with management to make the school beautiful and brighter at night and they are working on providing street lamps for the path linking K.D Enterprise to Ebony barbering saloon . Mr. Ofori ended by pleading with the entire student populace to be calm and patient with the SRC as they will be more enlighten projects to come.
