In the spirit of festivity and celebration, Greater Love Preparatory School in Tamale hosted its maiden edition of the Most Beautiful Maiden contest on the 21st of December 2023. The school grounds were transformed into a vibrant arena of glamour and excitement as 14 beautiful youngsters, aged between 8 and 14, competed for the coveted title of G.L.P.S Most Beautiful 2023.

The anticipation was palpable as the contestants, each radiating charm and confidence, took center stage in this thrilling competition. The school's administration and faculty, along with enthusiastic parents and well-wishers, gathered to witness this spectacle of beauty, grace, and talent.

The contest was meticulously organized into different sessions, showcasing the diverse talents and attributes of the contestants. From talent displays to question-and-answer rounds, each participant brought their unique flair to the stage. The judges, comprised of esteemed members from the local community and school staff, faced the challenging task of evaluating and selecting the most deserving candidate.

After each session, the tension heightened as the evictions were announced, gradually narrowing down the pool of contestants. The elimination process added an element of suspense, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats as they cheered for their favorite contenders.

As the competition progressed, the stage was set for the grand finale, featuring the top five contestants who had successfully navigated the previous rounds. The air was thick with excitement and nervous energy as the remaining contenders prepared to leave an indelible mark and secure the prestigious title.

In a moment of sheer joy and triumph, Miss Wilhelmina Duut emerged as the shining star of the evening, capturing the hearts of the judges and the audience alike. Her poise, charisma, and undeniable charm set her apart, earning her the title of G.L.P.S Most Beautiful 2023. As the confetti rained down and applause echoed through the school premises, Miss Duut was crowned with the symbolic tiara, signifying not only her beauty but also her grace and inner radiance. Speaking to miss Wilhelmina she stated that she desire to work with Queen Dahamani Tungteiya as she prepares to outdoor her project as the queen of Greater Love Preparatory School.

NUGS TO CREATE A TAXI STATION ON NYANKPALA CAMPUS

The National Union of Ghana Students(NUGS) of the University for Development Studies (UDS) intends to create a taxi station on campus. The station is intended to solve the issue of difficulties in transportation especially during weekends and in late hours of the night incase of emergencies. Mr. Ramid the Local NUGS president disclosed the intention of the council on Friday February 7 2020 on Radio Grin's "Time with the SRC". According to Mr. Ramid the council shall register and give tags to all taxis that will be at the station also address and contacts of drivers shall be collected for easy access to them incase of emergencies and incase a student leaves his item(s) in the car, also commercial vehicles that do not have a registered tag shall not be allowed to enter campus and shall not also be board by students as it will make students feel safe and secured .
