ROAD TO WHO BECOMES THE NEXT SRC/NUGS PRESIDENT

As the constitution of the Student Representative Council of the University for Development Studies in accordance to chapter eight, article 15 clause 1 states that"A student elected as an Executive Officer shall hold office for a term of one(1) academic year".

Prior to the election today the well-known student Pastor on the campus of UDS Nyankpala campus who gave a prophetic word about the 2021/2022 election of which he made mention that the current president shall be elected as the SRC President.



Pastor Eben Nti Boateng, who is well known on campus because of his Prophecies and giftings, gave a prophetic word during one of his Sunday evening prayer sessions that Ms. Thelma who is a candidate for the SRC General Secretary shall defeat her opponent.

He also asked his members to pray for peace before, during, and after the elections, for he has seen violence happening at some polling stations, he also added that if necessary security attention is not given this violence could spread beyond the control of security personnel present at the polling stations.



Within the early hours of Monday June 27 2022, before election proceedings could even commerce, there were some agitation in various polling stations as the positions of the SRC/NUGS WOCOM were different from what they balloted, also concerns were raised with regards to ballot papers not having serial numbers on them.

This agitation withheld election proceedings from 7 am till 11 am, and a closed-door meeting was held between the Women Commissioner candidates and the EC officials at the office of the Vice-Dean.

After some minutes of discussion and negotiations the EC with some other candidates then moved to Tamale town for reprinting of ballot papers.

All these turn out to be confirmation and manifestations of the prophetic word been shared by Pastor Eben Nti Boateng

NUGS TO CREATE A TAXI STATION ON NYANKPALA CAMPUS

The National Union of Ghana Students(NUGS) of the University for Development Studies (UDS) intends to create a taxi station on campus. The station is intended to solve the issue of difficulties in transportation especially during weekends and in late hours of the night incase of emergencies. Mr. Ramid the Local NUGS president disclosed the intention of the council on Friday February 7 2020 on Radio Grin's "Time with the SRC". According to Mr. Ramid the council shall register and give tags to all taxis that will be at the station also address and contacts of drivers shall be collected for easy access to them incase of emergencies and incase a student leaves his item(s) in the car, also commercial vehicles that do not have a registered tag shall not be allowed to enter campus and shall not also be board by students as it will make students feel safe and secured .
