YUMZAA FOUNDATION ORGANISES A MENSTRUAL HYGIENE MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP




 In contributing towards making the female world a better place, the Yumzaa Foundation in partnership with SMART NGO and the Northern Regional Girls Education Unit of the Ghana Education Service, on Saturday September 18, 2021 held a day Menstrual Hygiene Management workshop dubbed "Inspiring Leaders To Improve Personal and Menstrual Hygiene".




Participants included 50 female students and 5 teachers from 5 Junior High Schools, also in attendance were 5 volunteers of the Yumzaa Foundation and a representative from the Ghana Education Service. Participatory schools included; Bishop's R/C JHS, Zogbeli JHS Block "C", Choggu Nuri Islam and Tishigu Anglican JHS.



Participants received a capacity building training to enhance their self confidence and self esteem as they serve as personal and Menstrual Hygiene Ambassadors at their various schools.


All 61 participants at the end of the workshop were gifted a reusable sanitary napkin, to aid practice good menstrual and personal hygiene.

  1. Excellent. Wish I knoeq about this. Reusable are the way forward, not disposables. They contain too much plastic which takes 500 years to biodegrade! I teach students how to sew their own pads using upcyled clothes & towels @We-Stap 🖤❤🇬🇭
