TWO SUSPECTED ARSONIST HANDED OVER TO THE POLICE

St. Charles Minor Seminary was first opened in 1953 at Wiaga in the Builsa District of the Upper East Region, by the Missionary of Africa (White Fathers). It was later moved to Tamale in 1955 where it is now situated.

However, St. Charles has been in the news with it's fire incidence for almost 5 consecutive years now. The recent fire incident was recorded within the early hours of August 15 2021, the affected area was the classroom block which was donated by the school's PTA which before burning to ashes was used as a store room for mattresses.

Though the school still awaits the report from the Ghana National Fire Service team, the school authority formed a committee to investigate the issue at its level.

Two suspects were however handed over to the police for further investigations. The two suspects were caught at the point of starting a fire on the night of Wednesday September 1 2021.. The suspects who have been identified to be students had in their possession a matchbox and a liquid substance identified as petrol poured on one of the mattresses in a dormitory, the suspects have since been handed over to the police.

The Assistant HeadMaster, Senior House Master, Old boys and the Vica-General of the Tamale Archdiocese were at the police station to assist the police in their investigations.
