TV3 MENTOR RELOADED; A DREAM OR A SCAM

On the 22nd of February, 2020, Mohammed Luqman stage name Optional King was pronounced winner of TV3 mentor reloaded. It was an amazing day for a lot of young men and women in Tamale and especially Dakpem Fong where this humble guy hails from. The title convinced many young men and women from humble homes that hard work pays and that if one works hard, he/she can achieve his/her desired dream. A lot of us, young men and women could not sleep that night out of ecstasy, for the fame Optional King got and the prize attached to this victory, a two-bedroom apartment. The dream was that we could also win such a prize with the fame attached.


We can still thank TV3 for the fame he has had for winning the show but can we say same of the house promised? It is a big fat NO. The promise was nothing but a hoax (lie). It is worth to note that seven months of publicly announcing to the whole country and the world at large, the house has not been given to him. The promise was just a PR gimmick calculated at raising the image of TV3 but as an organization, is that how talents should be treated? Should promises of such nature made to young talented and deserving young men be broken in such wicked manner? Such callous practices have a tendency of destroying talents and discouraging talented young men and women from showcasing their talents. Optional King does not deserve such treatment. He won the prize on merit, his talent gave him the prize and he deserves every bit of the prize won. It is unthinkable that TV3, such an organization will stoop to such low.


It is incumbent to note that TV3, before even the start of the program showed pictures of the house to the contestants. After winning the show, all that TV3 has done is to take off their hands and introduced an estate company, a company that continuously lies to the winner as to the authenticity of the house. We belief it was a play between TV3 and that estate agents to cheat this humble guy of the promise made to him.


 We therefore demand from them as a matter of urgency, that the house should be released to him within a month otherwise the action that will be taken will be far fetching. We will report the matter to all chiefs that matter and all the people who matter.


THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING.

NUGS TO CREATE A TAXI STATION ON NYANKPALA CAMPUS

The National Union of Ghana Students(NUGS) of the University for Development Studies (UDS) intends to create a taxi station on campus. The station is intended to solve the issue of difficulties in transportation especially during weekends and in late hours of the night incase of emergencies. Mr. Ramid the Local NUGS president disclosed the intention of the council on Friday February 7 2020 on Radio Grin's "Time with the SRC". According to Mr. Ramid the council shall register and give tags to all taxis that will be at the station also address and contacts of drivers shall be collected for easy access to them incase of emergencies and incase a student leaves his item(s) in the car, also commercial vehicles that do not have a registered tag shall not be allowed to enter campus and shall not also be board by students as it will make students feel safe and secured .
