NUGS TO CREATE A TAXI STATION ON NYANKPALA CAMPUS




The National Union of Ghana Students(NUGS) of the University for Development Studies (UDS) intends to create a taxi station on campus. The station is intended to solve the issue of difficulties in transportation especially during weekends and in late hours of the night incase of emergencies.

Mr. Ramid the Local NUGS president disclosed the intention of the council on Friday February 7 2020 on Radio Grin's "Time with the SRC".

According to Mr. Ramid the council shall register and give tags to all taxis that will be at the station also address and contacts of drivers shall be collected for easy access to them incase of emergencies and incase a student leaves his item(s) in the car, also commercial vehicles that do not have a registered tag shall not be allowed to enter campus and shall not also be board by students as it will make students feel safe and secured .



He also made mention that the council is working hard to get drivers in Tamale and here in Nyankpala to make it easy for to-and-fro movement from Campus to town.

Though the council has not finalise things yet, Mr. Ramid said the council is seeking approval from the student populace before it will be initiated.

  3. I think the stress of having to walk to the main junction for taxi, especially during weekends will be a thing of the past when it a initiated.
