UDS – NYC SRC EXECUTIVES BEGRUDGE??

The SRC executives of the University for Devlopment Studies Nyamkpala Campus appears to be divided into separate ideological camps.

A circular posted on one of the school’s WhatsApp groups by the deputy SRC PRO; Mr Danaa on Friday 24th January 2020 at 5:55 pm, had a mind-blowing reply from his boss Mr Abu Nacional.

The circular was to inform the entire student populace of the postponement of an open forum which was scheduled to kick start on Friday 24th January 2020 at 7:45 pm, to the new date; Monday 27th January 2020.  The circulated circular didn't seem to rest well with the SRC’s PRO; Mr Tahiru Abubakari popularly known as Abu Nacional.

In reply to the circular, Abu Nacional requested his name be removed from the circular. He also added, "Instead of fighting for what is right for your students, you will be at your comfortable zone and be dictating for your people who trusted you in the first place. I AM SORRY NYC."

Campusweb360 investigations as to why Abu Nacional made such comments to his deputy revealed that the SRC president; Mrs Zeinab Denderi, was not even aware of the forum. She stated that the forum was initially organized without her knowledge citing that as a sign of disrespect to her office.

Nonetheless, after finding out, she agreed to have the open forum since she believes it was the best platform to address issues especially the “Tertiary Data Bundle (TDB)”.  Mrs Zeinab Denderi revealed that the forum had to be postponed due to the current low number of students on campus to a later date when the student majority is present.
"I shall not terminate his appointment just because of his statement on the platform, he shall continue to be my PRO and moreover there is nothing going on between us", She also responded with regards to Abu Nacional's comment on the WhatsApp platform.

In a conversation with Campusweb360 to inquire if a feud existed between his office and the other SRC executives, the PRO replied;  " I'm sorry but, nothing like any issues among us however sometimes you need to put yourself in the shoes of your followers as a leader and speak out the truth.".
As to whom the organizers of the forum were, he replied: "SRC/NUGS organized the forum, please let's close docket on this issue."

Upon further inquiry in a phone interview, he clearly stated an executive committee meeting was organized prior to the forum.  However, some executives ignored that meeting, leaving the decision to organize the forum to the few that were present.  It was further agreed in that meeting to organize the forum on 24th January 2020. So as the PRO he was tasked to design a flyer for publicity to that effect.

According to him, the official flyer was first shared on the executive platform with no objections, he therefore, proceeded to share the flyer for publicity purposes.

He was met with disappointment as he prepared to attend the open forum for him to see that circular on all student platforms.
The PRO; Mr Nacional ended the call with deep sentiment, that his work as the PRO does not mean that he shouldn't say the truth.

What is your take?
